Florida lawmakers pushing assets insurance coverage invoice opposed by homeowners

Laws overhauling Florida’s house coverage polices sophisticated in the point out Residence Friday regardless of in depth testimony that the bill would make it more complicated for homeowners to get promises compensated.

Property owners who struggled to get their promises paid out just after Hurricane Michael slammed the Panhandle told the committee their insurers did not supply sufficient revenue to address the total price of the damages, with some stating they still are battling with their carriers following more than two decades. They criticized several provisions in the bill.

Insurance policies law firm Amy Boggs said the monthly bill “feels pretty punitive” and will “hurt owners.”
