A setback from the Supreme Court led to selling in Reliance Industries, which in turn pushed benchmark indices lower on Friday. Pharma and select banking names were others that were under pressure while IT and auto stocks gave some support. The 30-share pack Sensex declined 215.12 points or 0.39 per cent to close at 54,277.72. The index ended down about 355 points from the day’s high. Its broader peer NSE Nifty dropped 56.40 points or 0.35 per cent to 16,238.20.
